My Nighttime Skincare Routine

This "shelter-in-place", "quarantine", or whatever you wanna call it, has really limited my ability to create my usual type of content. So this time around, I set up my tripod and recorded myself going through my usual nighttime skincare routine!

I have shared before on my Instagram Stories that I not only suffer from combination skin (oily t-zone and dry cheeks), but also from Rosacea.

According to the Mayo Clinic, Rosacea "is a common skin condition that causes redness and visible blood vessels in your face. It may also produce small, red, pus-filled bumps. These signs and symptoms may flare up for weeks to months and then go away for a while. Rosacea can be mistaken for acne, other skin problems or natural ruddiness."

Anyway, these are products that I have been using routinely for at least the past 6 months and have proven to really work well for my skin.

Once I turned 25, my skin really changed and I had trouble finding cleansers, moisturizers, ANYTHING that made my skin feel and look healthy. I'm happy to report that 3 years later, I have a favorite products list and my skin has never looked better!

So here's my list! And if you want to see my routine in action, check out my IGTV video linked at the end of this post below!

1. Up&Up Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover (Target, $2.49)

I use this mostly everyday to make sure I get all of my mascara off without irritating my skin or stinging my eyes. This product, available only at Target, is super gentle and does the job!

2. KORRES Pomegranate Pore Refining Cleansing Gel (KORRES, $28/ I also found it in-store at Marshalls for less than $10)

One day, I was browsing Marshalls, throwing things in my cart that I definitely did not need. But, I did need face wash, and I didn't think going on a second shopping spree to Target would be the best idea. So I went to the sometimes overwhelming, but always exciting beauty section and found this treasure!

I am not kidding, this is the best facial cleanser I've ever used! It washes my makeup off almost completely, but doesn't dry out my skin in the process. It's available online, but I'd check Marshalls for a deal.

3. KORRES Pomegranate Pore Refining Toner (REVOLVE, $22 / I also found it in-store at Marshalls for less than $10)

I picked this up along with the cleanser mentioned above. I had never used toner (can you believe it!?) because I didn't think it was necessary and because in recent years, I thought it would be too potent for my sensitive skin. But this toner really helps get that remaining makeup residue off and outta my face!

4. Farmhouse Fresh Peat Perfection Enriched Peat Purification Mask (Farmhouse Fresh, $30 / I also found it at Flawless Facial Bar in Oldtown Salinas, California)

I first tried this Peat Mask during a facial at the Flawless Facial Bar in Oldtown Salinas. After the experience, my skin felt so rejuvenated, calm, and fresh. Who doesn't want that? I use it twice a week and leave it on for about 20 minutes each time.

5. HERBIVORE Blue Tansy Resurfacing Clarity Mask (REVOLVE, $48 / You can also purchase the TRUE BLUE Mini Skin Clarifying Duo available at SEPHORA for $24. It has a mini of the Blue Tansy Mask and the Lapis Facial Oil)

When I am not using the mask above or below, I am using this clarity mask. This mask is clear so sometimes when I'm wearing it, it doesn't look like I have anything on. But I do!

I started wearing this one for 5 minutes, then 10. Now I'm at a good 25 minutes.

This mask helps clear out the pores and energize my skin! This mask is removed gently with a warm wet towel.

6. Bliss What a Melon De-Stressing Overnight Face Mask (Target, $13)

Some nights after removing my makeup, I realize that my skin is just tired. Those nights, instead of the Peat Mask or the Blue Tansy Mask, I put on this overnight mask that not only smells delicious, but feels so good on! It's a pretty iridescent pink too! In the mornings when I wash it off, my skin is ready to go!

7. Valjean Labs Anti Age Eye Serum (Amazon, $14) & Valjean Labs DePuff Eye Serum (Amazon, $14) I also found these in-store at Marshalls for less than $10 each

I'll say it now and I'll say it again and again, I LOVE Valjean Labs products! They are affordable and they truly work wonders for my complex skin!

These 2 eye serums have worked so well for me, especially when I'm looking tired.

I tried the De-Puff product first after seeing amazing reviews for it. And all those reviews were on point! BUY THIS NOW!

As for the Anti-Age serum, I've only been using it for about a month, but I have been seeing similar results to a smaller degree.

All in all, both great! I found them at Marshalls for less than $10 so definitely check them out first!

8. Valjean Labs Clarify Facial Serum (Amazon, $14)

If there's anyone reading this who is struggling with their Rosacea and can't find a thing that works, I'd recommend giving this serum a try (I'm not an experienced professional on this topic, so check with your dermatologist before trying any of these products)!

I've been using it for at least a year and I have noticed that it works just as well my prescribed Rosacea ointment (I still tend to use both though). The first week I used it, I was amazed at how clear my skin looked! And again, I found it at Marshalls for less than $5!

I should mention that after applying this by hand, I like to use a rose quartz roller (I've linked one below!) to continue to massage the serum into the skin.

9. Philosophy Purity Made Simple Moisturizer (Ulta, $25)

I was using the facial cleanser that went along with this moisturizer for a while, but it never really worked for me. This moisturizer however is my favorite.

With my Rosacea, sometimes I just want to dunk my face in moisturizer! Instead, I can put a few pumps of this on my face and feel totally hydrated. It's never oily and it's really light.

10. HERBIVORE Lapis Balancing Facial Oil (SEPHORA, $72 / You can also purchase the TRUE BLUE Mini Skin Clarifying Duo available at SEPHORA for $24. It has a mini of the Blue Tansy Mask and the Lapis Facial Oil)

When I purchased the Blue Tansy Face Mask I mentioned above, I also purchased this facial oil that was recommended to me by several friends. Some of you may know that HERBIVORE can be pricey, so I held off on buying it for a while.

But then I found a mini duo set at a cute little kimono boutique in San Francisco's Chinatown. Score!

This facial oil almost feels warm when massaging it into the skin. It is oil so it can be heavy. Thankfully that makes it last longer! I use about 4-5 drops for my face.

This facial oil helps calm my skin when suffering from a Rosacea flare up, or after a long day when I've worn makeup for hours. It also smells really nice!

11. Valjean Labs Clarify Facial Mist (Ebay, $16)

To kind of set all of these products in place, I like to spray this facial mist. It just makes my skin feel so fresh and so clean (LOL). But just like the facial serum, the vitamin A and witch hazel ingredients tame my red irritated skin.

And here are some other items you may need to follow along my nighttime skincare routine!

Watch me go through my entire nighttime skincare routine here!

Thanks for reading & watching! Goodnight!
