It's been almost two years since my last installment of "10 Questions with Instagram Bloggers." But what better time to jump back into something than right now when we have the time and honestly, need a little distraction and pick me up.
I reached out to these three ladies because I really admire their content and the work they do to create a positive space on social media. I hope you enjoy their responses to the questions.
I try to ask atypical questions for these posts because I don't want this to be boring or frigid. I want it to be interesting and maybe even funny. So please enjoy and go give these ladies a follow!
Natalie is one of my best Instafriends! We bonded over a similar fashion sense and our love of Disney! She's a colorful fashionista that brings so much joy to everything she posts on Instagram. Check out thealmondgirlstyles.wordpress.com for more fun fashion and smiles!
Allyne has a bubbly personality and is always so fun to follow on Instagram! She uses nature as her backdrop many times, and uses it as her prop. Her style is effortless and real, and as her bio says, her style is for "real life." To find out more about Allyne and her site, sunflowerscocoabutter.com, give her a follow!
Giulia is a multi-talented blogger who focuses on the business of blogging among many other topics. If you need style, travel, or just daily inspo, check out her feed and website! I know I've added lots of destinations to my bucket list after seeing them on palmtreesandpellegrino.com!
1. What did you say as a kid when asked: What do you want to be when you grow up?
Natalie: "As a kid, I wanted to become a teacher. I loved commanding a room of my stuffed animals. I chose a completely different path however. I work in the Hospitality industry."
Allyne: "I had a million things I wanted to be when I was asked that as a kid. A fire fighter! A space cadet! A lawyer! I wanted to be all the things you, know? My dad always told me that I was smart and that I could be whatever I wanted, I guess I took that and ran with it."
Giulia: "The earliest memory I have of what I wanted to be was Princess of Monaco. It just felt so glamorous. A little later (elementary school) I wanted to be a lawyer like my dad. Then in middle school I decided I wanted to be a writer like J.K. Rowling."
2. Is there an app that you hate but use anyways?
Natalie: "I hate Tik Tok, I know it's fun and it's the latest and greatest new platform, I use it occasionally for a laugh. I don't like creating on it though."
Allyne: "The Chipotle app! I never bring my phone when I go in there because I try to be off my phone when I’m eating. However the cashier can’t scan my rewards and I have to manually input my receipt in. Unfortunately there’s a limit of how many times you can manually input your receipt in a month and I got there all of the time. I’ve totally lost out on at least six burritos by now!"
Giulia: "Umm... YES. Instagram. I think a lot of people have a love-hate relationship with the platform. I feel like I spend too much time on there. As much as I love the idea of cultivating a community, the app has changed so much that I don't feel as connected with my followers. But being a blogger, it's a pretty important platform."
3. If you could raid one celebrity's closet, whose would it be?
Natalie: "Oh my gosh, Aidy Bryant's wardrobe is my dream wardrobe."
Allyne: "Sophia Webster, I love her whimsical style."
Giulia: "Paola Alberdi, the founder of Blank Itinerary. She has this timeless and chic style but manages to be modern and edgy at the same time. It reminds me of what my style could ( and should) be!"
4. Would you rather have unlimited sushi for life or unlimited tacos for life?
Natalie: "UNLIMITED TACOS! Let's taco bout how good they are!"
Allyne: "Oh my gosh how can you ask me this question!? These are my two of my favorite foods. I think I’m going to go with sushi because it’s harder to make and more expensive."
Giulia: "Tacos 100%. I'll take an al pastor any day."
5. What song would you associate with your sense of style?
Natalie: "Paul Simon-Rewrite."
Allyne: "Unforgettable French Montana."
Giulia: "Edith Piaf's "C'est La Vie en Rose." That song might be a classic but it just makes me want to throw on a midi dress and neck scarf and dance through the streets of Paris."
6. When have you felt most proud of yourself?
Natalie: "After my 2nd event with Coach at my local mall. I was extremely proud of how far I've come with trying to be a legitimate blogger and influencer. I still have a long road ahead but I think that was the biggest moment that I really looked at myself and thought, I can actually do this."
Allyne: "When I got my admission letter to law school with practically a full ride. I’m currently a recovering overachiever so in that moment I was happy but I didn’t give myself permission to feel proud of myself in the way that I feel proud now."
Giulia: "I'm a textbook Capricorn, and we tend to be SO HARD on ourselves. I spent most of my life feeling like I was working hard but not achieving anything. The moment I got the call that I got my dream job at Adobe is my proudest moment. Round after round of interview with them, I didn't think I'd actually get the job. After I got off that call, I burst into tears and just spent a good 15 minutes crying. There was just such a sense of relief that my and my family's sacrifices had been worth it."
7. Have you ever had a crush on a fictional character, and, if so, who?
Natalie: "Oh gosh, let's see I think I used to have a giant crush on David Tennant as the Doctor on Doctor who. I don't think I've hardcore crushed on a fictional character since then."
Allyne: "100% Kovu Lion King II."
Giulia: "I was a HUGE Harry Potter fan, and of course I had the biggest crush on Harry from the book. I also low key went through a Twilight phase back in middle school and I was Team Edward all the way."
8. What do you do when you can’t fall asleep?
Natalie: "When I can't fall asleep, I watch cooking videos, like those really calm ones set outdoors. Something about watching that calms me to sleep."
Allyne: "I listen to music, I cuddle with my husband, I write poetry, or I drink tea."
Giulia: "I have an app that has different background noises. There's this one called "airplane cabin." I laugh because it puts me right to sleep and it feels a little weird. But that's the traveler life!"
9. What's the last movie that made you cry?
Natalie: "ONWARD- my Gosh did I sob like a baby after watching that movie. Pixar gets me every time!"
Allyne: "Ip Man 4 the finale."
Giulia: "I actually hate watching sad movies (I feel like there's enough sad stuff happening in the world that I don't want to go further down that rabbit hole.) But I am a sucker for Pixar movies. I've shed a tear in basically all of them. I recently rewatched Inside Out and I'll say more than 2 tears were shed."
10.What famous artist, dead or alive, would you want to paint your portrait?
Natalie: "I'd actually love to see what Frida Kahlo pulled from the depths of my soul on canvas."
Allyne: "Frida Kahlo, we intersectional feminist have to stick together."
Giulia: "I'm torn between Edgar Degas who's famous for his paintings of ballerinas and Sandro Boticelli who's known for his paintings of Venus."
