I had become bored of Ipsy's monthly randomness. Every month's bag was filled with obscure brands and products I ended up losing in my makeup drawer without ever using. My best friend and makeup/skincare guru, EsmesGlowUp, mentioned that maybe Play! by Sephora would be a great option for me. The subscription is also $10 a month and all of the products included in their subscriptions are products you can find in their stores.
Like almost every girl, I love Sephora! I'm no makeup artist and I don't shop there as much as I'd like to, but I do trust the Sephora brand to always offer the best quality products that will make me feel beautiful.
The bag carrying all the products is a gorgeous blue tie-dye baggie stating "Beauty is my Spirit Animal." I loved it! Plus, it came with a road map talking about the featured products, as well as the benefits of the Play! by Sephora subscription, which includes a PLAY! Book, PLAY! Pass, and PLAY! Date.
To give you a better idea of my thoughts about these products, I've created a rating scale:
Merp = 1
Mmkay = 2
Yaas = 3
Yaaas = 4
Yaaas Queen = 5
The first item included in my bag is a sample set of Dry Bar's On the Rocks Shampoo and Conditioner. I had always wanted to try this label's products! The sample was barely enough for my hair, but then again it's long. I was not a fan of the scent, but it sure left my hair squeaky clean! Wish I had enough left over to at least try it one more time. I give this an Mmkay.
I had never used micellar cleansing water before so I wasn't too excited about this item from Sephora's collection. It ended up being a great way to remove my makeup before I used a cleanser but, I haven't seen a change or any bettering results from having used this product. I give it a Merp.
My hair is typically oily at the roots and dry at the ends which means I need moisture up in this hair ASAP! But I am always hesitant of using new hair products in addition to shampoo and conditioner because I fear my hair becoming even more oily and dry! This IGX hair balm did none of that! Instead, it made my hair feel soft and lightweight! It doesn't really have a scent, but it does what it promises to do. I give this product a Yaaas!
A good BB cream is always a win. I loved this beauty balm from Dr.Jart+ because it has excellent coverage and such a great feel. The color I received was too light so I will have to adjust my settings on Sephora's website. But overall, this is a great product I recommend for someone looking for something light but with foundation like coverage. I give this a Yaas.
First you should know that I totally applied this like I see makeup vloggers do, and yes I made a mess. But really, this enhancer made me feel like I belonged in the #Beychella crowd. I definitely will not be wearing this everyday, but I will be using this as a highlight on nights when I'm getting all glammed up for a night on the town. I received the Moonlight shade, but would be excited to try others. I give this a Yaaas Queen!
I squealed when I saw this because I had just bought the It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream and fell in complete love with it! This concealer paired just perfectly with my CC Cream. It has bonkers coverage! I barley got any out of the container but knew it was enough. A teeny tiny bit goes a long way. This is a great sign of how long this product will last as well. I will definitely be buying this product once my sample size is all gone! This is a definite Yaaas Queen!
