The arrival of the Fall season is, for many fashionistas, an exciting time to experiment with prints and patterns, colors, and neutrals. But I've noticed, many women, although stylish, are hesitant to wear similar trends that they wore in the Spring and Summer seasons? Why? Maybe it's because it's a time of change. But that doesn't mean you have to change to something boring!
Florals are essential in the warmer seasons, but during the fall, a floral print can be romantic, elegant, and chic!
And it's easy to find flattering, beautiful flower centric pieces thanks to Aussie brand, Suzanne Betro. Suzanne Betro is an Australian brand making its way to the US through Zulily. The size inclusive brand carries sizes small through 4X, and is proud to design for all women. That is why I am excited to be collaborating with them this Fall to bring you all one of our favorite trends: Florals!
When wearing the print in a dress, an allover floral is perfect to showcase the beauty of the dress' silhouette, while still letting the print be the focal point. A popular trend during the fall is the prairie look. Try a midi length dress with a dramatic sleeve and some booties. You'll look like you just stepped off the Fall runways and into brunch with the gal pals.
Florals during the Fall may remind some people of holidays spent at grandma's on her antique flower covered couches. Same, girl, same. But that doesn't mean you'll look like a love-seat if you wear some beautiful blooms!
Florals can be totally sexy when you show a bit of skin. Maybe opt out of throwing on leggings or tights and show a little leg with your boots to add a bit of a peek-a-boo effect. It's also a great look for a night out if you throw on a cool leather jacket.
Wearing florals during the Fall does not mean the silhouettes you wear have to be simple and understated. Try something bold like a kimono to add some flair to your everyday wardrobe you didn't know you needed! You can throw it on over a tank and some jeans for those places, like my hometown, that are currently experiencing an Indian Summer. Or pop it on over a demure black turtleneck, black jeans, and black thigh high boots and girl, you'll be walking down the Target dollar spot like it is your own personal runway!
When heading into the office, maybe an eclectic floral pattern is a bit much. Opt for a floral lace or embroidery detail to stick with the trend without having it overpower your professional appearance. And neutrals are probably your best bet so you avoid your outfit becoming a distraction during a meeting.
For the everyday or weekend look, experiment with mixing florals! Try mixing different size prints with complimentary colors. Or, mix a floral print with another seasonal print like a plaid, paisley, or hounds-tooth. Don't be afraid of mixing and matching. Think of a smaller print, like a pinstripe or small polka dot, like a neutral or solid when paired with a floral, and you'll be on your way to your most fashion forward self yet!
